This contest is almost exactly what the title implies. I'm looking for artwork of something growing on a tree, that generally doesn't grow on trees.

There will be two categories: photography and not photography. Photography was my main idea in this, but I'll accept other forms of artwork to feature too.

Prizes: at least a feature, probably more for the photo winner. I'm not sure what my financial situation will be then (I'm a college student, what do you expect?), but we can arrange a sub or small print or something. I'll update when I have a more definite answer.

Best news first, I got my EMT Basic certificate!!
I have to wait until October to get my actual license, but the hard part is over. That's why I've been so busy over the summer, the classes for that.

Also, I'm going to be moving out in a couple weeks. Turns out I'll be living on campus this term. So with school and whatnot going on, I don't know how often I'll be on here, I've been really bad about checking up on those who I watch (sorry!), so no guarantees, but I can try to get better about that.

I've been working with oil pastels a bit more, and I know they're pretty different from the rest of my gallery, but I'd like your thoughts and any critique on them. I'm still pretty new to this.

Also, if you haven't noticed, I've been really liking long exposure photography. I'm hoping to play around with that some more.

I don't know what the calendar says, but if you ask me it's summer. In celebration, I'm having a mini contest, kinda'.
Here's what you have to do:
Go outside, plant a tree, submit a photo of and piece of art based on said tree. You'll be featured.
That's it.
There is no deadline, you could submit something two years from now and I'll still feature it. You may just have to remind me of what I was doing.

I don't even know if people noticed that I haven't been around much recently. I had computer issues, had to reformat, and get everything back to normal, no, better than normal. That and school was a pain, but, I'm done now.

Also, just because I haven't been online doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything. Oh no. I have quite a few photos to upload, the vast majority of them being macro shots of all the new life springing up. So be prepared for a mass upload of close-up flora (not much fauna, sorry).

As much as I love all this digital art and whatnot that I upload to here, I wish that I could make something useful. Well now maybe I can.

While this is nowhere near as complicated as just about anything else I do, I like it. I just used the clipart on their little online program, and pieced some stuff together.
There's a whole list of stores on there that are doing the same thing, so I encourage you to design something for your local grocery store. Most of all though, I encourage you to vote for mine, assuming you like it (you can vote once a day).

I know I haven't been around nearly as much as I would like to. There's just been a lot going on that I'd really rather not get into right now. I have some photography to upload, but I'm not sure when that's going to happen, I've been having a few computer issues as well (involving re-formatting). So... yeah, that's about all I can say without things getting too complicated. I hope to be around more often soon (i.e. when school gets out).
